It was like a fab home from home, with sincerity of the hospitality being the main memory
I would have preferred to visit on a non-wedding function day but the hotel coped very well for other guests
No drinking water in the room - should be available or at a suitable spot for guests in the lodge. We asked if we could change from the lodge to the hotel if there was a vacancy - were told no - poor communication skills from staff member. We asked for information on the golfing packages - we were given it verbally, we asked for it twice in writing to show our Scottish friends who are keen golfers, were told it was not available - urgent training issue there. We did not see any manager around and we were only staying one night. Otherwise we enjoyed our one night there.
All the staff were very welcoming and helpfull, and they all pour a perfect pint of black stuff!!!
In the hotel there is a genuine atmosphere of a real place of hospitality and welcome - its also great to meet local people its a good sign if they go there too. The newer lodge building is built beside the river so you can hear it in your room which is so restful and soothing. Both are comfortable, clean and warm - I love to go there and hopefully will get back again soon(excuse de spellings here!)
I really enjoyed the Lodge, it had a fresh new feel about it and the rooms were very spacious. I liked the fact that Woodenbridge Golf Club was across the road and although I didn't play that weekend I would be interested going back there for make it the perfect place for a golfing weekend. The staff were professional and always had welcoming smile.
