The Devil's Glen

About a mile (2km) to the north-west is the Devil's Glen. This well known beauty spot is a deep chasm whose craggy sides are covered with trees and shrubs. On entering the glen the Vartry River falls nearly a hundred feet into the 'Devils Punchbowl', a deep basin in the rock below.
