Descriptions
On behalf of Wicklow County Tourism and the owner's of some of the most magnificent gardens in Ireland, we invite you to come and visit us this summer. If you have visited our gardens before, come again and see the new features we have added for your pleasure. We enjoy people just as much as flowers and will be delighted to show you around our treasures.
Wicklow is The Garden of Ireland and we proudly present to you grandiose parklands, town and country gardens, alpine gardens, bog gardens, Japanese gardens, wild and tamed gardens. Some gardens incorporate wooded areas where the branches of one tree touches its neighbour forming a canopy to protect a natural woodland, a layer of ferns and herbaceous flowering plants.
There has never been a better time to garden. Most homeowners are more garden conscious than ever before, and Irish gardeners are now among the best known in the world. We have a huge variety of new plants now available to us, so if you want ideas or need to know what to plant where, a visit to several of our gardens will fill you with new desires to create that garden of your dreams.
