"Glenroe" set in the foothills of the Sugarloaf mountain in Co. Wicklow, is both a fictional and a real rural community.
One of the most popular locations is where Dinny, Miley and Biddy (from the TV series Glenroe)had their farm. This working farm has opened its gates to visitors and fans alike.
Visit Dinny's famous pink cottage, complete with a jacuzzi. There's also a souvenir/home produce shop offering a variety of high quality gifts and a tempting selection of home baked bread, cakes and jams. Relax in the friendly coffee shop and treat yourself to some delicious home baking.
Features include lots of farm animals for the kids to hold and play with, large picnic areas, a hotographic exhibition which includes scenes from "The Riordans", "Bracken", and of course the cast of "Glenroe".
Glenroe Open Farm is an ideal location for groups and is suitable for young and old alike. Safety is our number one concern and the fact that the farm is "open plan" is a real bonus. You can see what's going on and let the children have their own independance at the same time.
Situated on the Dublin side of the picturesque village of Kilcoole, Glenroe Open Farm is fun for all the family.
