This recently refurbished 3 bedroom cottage sits nestled in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains, just a few miles from the picturesque villages of Aughrim - Ireland’s tidiest town in 2007 and Tinahely.
The cottage is wheelchair accessible, beautifully decorated and fully equipped. There are lovely seating areas outdoors while a real turf fire makes for a cosy night in. This quiet and peaceful location is the ideal base for touring Wicklow and the east coast.
The surrounding countryside gives the visitor an opportunity to enjoy the peace and quiet of country life, while all the amenities required are available within easy reach in the local  towns and villages.

Directions

From Dublin take the N11 to Rathnew and continue on the R752 to Rathdrum and the R753 to Aughrim. Or
From Rosslare take the N25 to Wexford and then N11 to Arklow. Take the R747 to Aughrim.

From Aughrim take the Rathdangan road. After about a half a mile keep right at the junction. Continue for about 2 miles. Turn left and continue along a winding road for 1.5 miles. Askanagap Country Cottage is on your right opposite the football pitch.

You can enjoy the unrivalled beauty of the Wicklow mountains by taking a walk along the quiet country roads or the many forest trails in the area while  the Wicklow Way walking route is just a mile away and nearby Tinahely has a number of looped walking trails across the hills.  There is a choice of 10 golf courses within a 30 minute drive and many blue flag beaches along the coast. Hillwalking is practically at the doorstep, while Powerscourt House and Gardens,  Glendalough, Wicklow’s Historic Jail, Mount Usher Gardens and Avondale House and Forest Park are just some of the many local attractions of interest to adults and children alike. A visit to Dublin is just an hour by road or if you wish, you can relax and take the train. Pamper yourself with a visit to The Wells Spa just 3 miles away in Macreddin village, while the seaside town of Arklow has a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants and is the ideal place for a holiday shopping trip.
