Description
Nestled peacefully in a wooded haven in North Wexford is the woodland Art and Craft Gallery. The home of woodturner Michael Murphy, whose love for wood and its beauty can be seen in his work. Michael has that rare gift of bringing out the best in nature. The raw material used is Irish hardwoods, for their close grain and durability. Conventional bowls are rough turned and left ot dry naturally for 4-5 months. After this slow drying process each piece is carefully crafted, oiled and polished to capture its own innate beauty. Michael runs wood-turning courses and demonstrations by prior arrangement. The gallery also displays a fine collection of work by local and international artists
