Sli Charman, The Wexford Coastal Path, was established in 1993 by Wexford Co. Council. An tSli (The Path) extends for 221 kilometres from Kilmichael Point in the North East cormer of Co. Wexford to Ballyhack, a picturesque village in the south West of our county. Along the way you will encounter sandy beaches, eroding clay cliffs, durable rocky headlands, areas of exceptional natural beauty and interest, historic towns and monuments. Curracloe, Wexford and Ireland's best golden beach stretches for miles. The dunes here have been replanted under resoration work carried out by Wexford Co. Council, who made the far sighted decision in 1976 to purchase the sand dunes. As a result of the work carried out at the resort, Curracloe shared the award of best Blue Flag Beach in the country in 1992 Our Lady's Island nearby is one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in Ireland. On the route of the pilgrimage are the ruins of an Augustinian Priory and a fine Norman Castle erected in 1237. The lake and its islands are of considerable ornithological value. Tacumshane Windmill, North of Tacumshane Lake, is one of the best preserved examples of windmills in the country.

Why not take a day trip from Kilmore Quay to the Saltee Islands, two rocky nature reserves 5km, off shore. Between Kilmore Quay and Cullenstown lies the Ballyteigue Burrow (sandhills) a 9km. spit of sand dunes which bounds the Cull lagoom. Both burrow and lagoon are valued for their vegetation and wildlife. At Bannow Bay, the Norman ruins at Clonmines have been described as the impressive deserted Medieval Site in Ireland. The ruins contain the remanins of two Churches, An Augustinian Priory and three Towner Houses. At Bannow, only the Medieval Church remains of the second Norman town established along this Bay.
