Situated in the historic town of Enniscorthy, the club was founded in 1907 and was extended to 18 holes in 1990. It was twinned in 2007 during its centenary year with Carmarthen Golf Club, Wales. The fairways are generous and the course has many beautiful old trees which will give the golfer that extra degree of difficulty. This parkland course with its gentle undulating fairways affords magnificent views of Wexford's rolling countryside and the Blackstairs Mountains. A very beautiful and testing 18 holes it has been described by course architect, the late Eddie Hackett, as a "joy for the average golfer and a test for the expert". The spacious modern clubhouse offers a full range of facilities, and a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere awaits all visitors. These sentiments have recently been echoed in Kevin Markham's popular publication of (Hooked: An Amateur's Guide to the Golf Courses of Ireland) published by Collins Press in May 2009 [ISBN-13: 9781905172948] as "Definitely one of those friendly, country golf courses that you find all over Ireland and always a pleasure to play. There is plenty of variety at Enniscorthy, which means an array of challenges. But most of all, the straightforward design ensures plenty of enjoyment...and when you walk off the 18th, you will be pleasantly surprised at how much fun you have had. This is what golf is all about, including the lively clubhouse."
