The Dunbrody Famine Ship is a full scale replica of the three-masted barque that transported many Irish emigrants to the US and Canada over 150 years ago (between 1845 and 1870). One such emigrant was Patrick Kennedy, great grandfather of President John F Kennedy, who departed our shores in 1848.
The original Dunbrody was built in Quebec, Canada, in 1845 for the Graves family of New Ross. Features include a number of exhibitions and visitors can also experience life on board the Dunbrody during its 45 day voyage across the Atlantic.
