No hairdryer in the room. When asked at reception for one was asked, "Did you come by motor bike?" Room needed a better clean to remove several cobwebs in bathroom. Reported broken light bulb on landing which was replaced.
We enjoyed our stay at Danby Lodge though we think we should have been informed at time of booking that a lot of the rooms are outdoor chalets. Also breakfast time there seems a bit unorganised. Tables were partially set. Had to ask each morning for our tea & toast
They were all very helpful, cheerful and quick to serve.
We went for a wedding, which was held in the function room of the hotel, if we had a choice we probably would not stay there again. Rooms were ok- our bathroom door did not shut and you could clearly hear those in the next room- so silence as they say is golden. TV was very small and in the top corner- so very hard to see. I had to ask for a hairdryer. The residents bar was small, the choice of breakfast was fine- cereal, yoghurt and a full Irish- so all in all for the price not bad value.
Good value, good food and very friendly, helpful staff
Danby Lodge is a lovely hotel. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Good location for Ferry, staff pleasant/polite, but the hotel knows that people are catching the early ferries and no breakfast facilities are offered - theres lots of the B&Bs and hotels who dont cater for the early travellers- so the rates should be cheaper and room only.
Nice spacious room which was suitable for children.
