A visit to Waterford Castle Hotel is an amazing experience – a magical place on a private 310-acre island and within a short drive of Waterford City.

As you drive up the tree-lined driveway, the 16th Century Castle hotel appears. With its ivy façade and cloud-grey coloured stones, you know you’re in for a real treat ! Your bags are immediately whisked to your room and the exceptional staff also park your car.

As you walk into the foyer, gaze at the large roaring open fire, spot the walls full of charming old world tapestries and get a glimpse of the other guests relaxing and sipping cocktails. It’s like stepping into a different world, a world of fairytale and fantasy.

The hotel has an excellent restaurant, lounge bar, landscaped gardens and a 18-hole championship golf course. Mature woodland and the serene waters of the River Suir surround the 19 bedroom luxury hotel.

Access to the hotel is by private ferry that operates 24 hours a day.

The hotel is a two and a half hour drive from Dublin.

If driving from Cork, once you reach the first roundabout on approach to Waterford City, take the signs for Waterford Regional Hospital and Dunmore East. Travel on for about 6 miles until you reach Waterford Regional Hospital. Keep to the right at the next roundabout and stay on this road for about a mile. You will pass 2 pedestrian lights.
At the next set of traffic lights take a left turn. Drive on this road until you see the ferry crossing to the Island. Waterford Castle Hotel is on this island.

Room Features

Each of the 19 guest rooms in the Castle are individually decorated and named and with names such as 'The Ormond Room', 'The Kildare Room' and 'The Glin Room'. These names date back to the history of Waterford Castle.

The guest rooms are elegantly decorated and combine old world features flawlessly married with modern comforts and service. The en-suite bathrooms are beautiful with deep stand-alone claw foot bathtubs and showers. The delicate period fixtures and fittings will enchant and enamour any guest.

Get a 'hole-in-one' at the Waterford Castle Hotel's 18 hole Championship Golf Course. It’s located just 300 meters from the hotel and is set in very beautiful and serene surroundings. You can hire golf clubs, trollies and buggies in the summer season'.

As well as this fine golf course, you also have a great selection of other courses within an 8-mile radius. Some of these include Faithlegg Golf Club, Tramore Golf Club and Mount Juliet Golf Club. It’s definitely a golfers paradise.

The Omar Khayyam Boardroom is beautifully decorated with oak panelling and elegantly designed plaster ceilings. The boardroom has views of the 18 Hole Championship Golf Course. As well as this boardroom the Leinster Room is another fine setting for your business meetings.

The pianist is a surprising and delightful addition to this already dream-like experience. The Munster Dining Room is an AA Red Rosettes award winner for 2 years. Original oak panelled walls and an ornate ceiling creates a wonderful warm, relaxing ambience. The menu includes venison, game, beef and varied seafood dishes.

The Leinster Room accommodates up to 22 guests for private dining.

The Fitzgerald Room, more commonly known as the ‘lounge’, is the perfect place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink with friends in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
