Tramore Information

Tramore, 8 miles (13 km) south of Waterford city, is one of Ireland's most popular seaside resorts. Situated on a hillside overlooking Tramore Bay, it has a fine promenade and a sandy bathing beach 3 miles (5 km) long hence its name Trá Mhór, which means 'big strand'.

Tramore was once a quiet little fishing village but with the arrival of a train station in the 1800's, Tramore became more and more popular as a holiday destination.

This exciting resort is home to a beautiful promenade with a 20 hectare amusement park, lots of beautiful walks, sailing, surfing, kayaking, an 18 hole golf course, horse riding stables and a driving range.

Tramore is a lively town with lots of excellent places to wine and dine in the evenings and for the young, or young at heart, there's some late night bars and nightclubs.
