Lafacadio Hearn was an incredible institution in Japan during the turn of the last century. During his time there he became a gateway between the Japan he had adopted as his home and the west from whence he came. Of Irish descent, the Tramore Lafcadio Hearn Society wished to commemorate him and his contributions in the beautifully restored Old Coast Guard Station in Tramore.
