The Great National Clonea Strand Hotel is located in Dungarvan in County Waterford. This delightful 3 star hotel was built and furnished in the early 1990s and reflects that era. The hotel has been run by the McGrath Family since 1982 and offers you fantastic accommodation and welcoming hospitality. Clonea Strand Hotel overlooks a beautiful blue flag beach, making it a paradise for water enthusiasts. Situated close by is the 18 hole Gold Coast Golf Course, which enjoys breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, Dungarvan Bay and Comeragh Mountains. Clonea Strand Hotel has the added facility of an indoor leisure centre with a heated swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, gym, 10 pin bowling alley and a children’s soft play area. Clonea Strand Hotel is an excellent base from which to explore Dungarvan and the surrounding area.

Dungarvan is a busy market town and an excellent holiday centre as it is within easy driving distance to some spectacular seascapes, green placid river valleys and wild rugged heather covered mountains. Tennis, swimming, golf and horse riding are just some of the fantastic outdoor activities which can be enjoyed locally. From time to time for operational and other reasons, especially in Low and Shoulder Season your reservation may be re allocated to another property within our Resort. In most case and where possible advance notice will be given.

The Great National Clonea Strand Hotel features 58 comfortable bedrooms, all of which contain spacious ensuite facilities. In room facilities include tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, colour TV and telephone. Each room is furnished to a very high standard to ensure your comfort during your stay. Please note: Family rooms can accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults & 2 children under 12. It has a double bed, single bed and pull out couch sofa bed. Family Rooms - Child Policy: we are delighted to accommodate up to 2 children (i.e., 12 years or under) when sharing with adult guests; verification of junior guests' age(s) may be requested on arrival so as to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.

Dungarvan Dungarvan town is located on Dungarvan Harbour, where the River Colligan broadens and enters the sea. It is a busy market town and an excellent holiday centre that can trace its origins to the Stone Age. Deep-sea and on-shore angling are particularly good in the Dungarvan area and fully equipped boats are available. You can catch cod, coalfish, conger, ling, mackerel, shark, pollock and many others. Salmon, trout and coarse fishing are available nearby. Golf, tennis, squash, board sailing, yachting and of course, swimming can be enjoyed locally. Dungarvan Museum This Musuem is located in a 17th century Market House, in Lower Main Street, it traces the development of Dungarvan from the Ice Age through the Norman, Mediaeval and Georgian periods. It also features a maritime display and a historic photographic collection. Well worth a visit. Waterford Heritage Museum, Waterford City This museum houses beautiful artifacts from the Viking and Medieval periods and is located in the city centre, near Reginald's tower. Scenic Drives in Waterford Barony of Gaultier Dunmore East Westwards - Vee Gap, Eastwards - Comeragh Drive. Visit Blackwater and Bride Valleys
