Welcome to Cairbre House, a delightful Georgian accommodation located close to the busy market town of Dungarvan in County Waterford. The home was built in 1819 by the Duke of Devonshire and is a jewel in the crown of the sunny south east. The property is just less than 1km from Dungarvan Harbour. The Comeragh Mountains as the backdrop and the Colligan River Estuary to the foreground certainly is the icing on the cake of this magnificent property.

We stopped in Waterford for the night on our way from Dublin to the Mizen. Cairbre House was welcoming, very comfortable and luxurious. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I wish we had more time to spend there. I would highly recommend Cairbre House.

Lovely country house in a beautiful setting on the edge of the estuary in Dungarvan. When the tide is out, the mudflats are full of interesting waders and seabirds, which you can view from the conservatory and outdoor deck through binoculars thoughtfully provided. Good breakfasts using some produce from the garden, itself interesting for its collection of rare tender species. Easy and enjoyable walk to the harbour area and its restaurants and pubs.
