This three centre walking tour based in hotels and guesthouses, provides the richest variety of geology, scenery and walking conditions that could be desired. The walks cover three very different areas - the Burren, the Aran Islands and Connemara - which are however geographically close to each other, therefore avoiding long coach transfers. During this tour you can look forward to seeing the world famous Cliffs of Moher, a flight with spectacular views over the West Coast of Ireland to the Aran Islands, two nights on the Aran Islands and the visit of Dun Aengus, the internationally renowned karst limestone habitat of the Burren and Connemara's lake dotted bog land, mountains and seascape.

 

DAY 1 Arrival
 Arrival at accommodation in Lisdoonvarna, renowned for traditional Irish music. Dinner and briefing with your guide. Overnight in Lisdoonvarna (3 nights).
DAY 2 Cliffs of Moher and Atlantic Coast
A gentle walk by the Atlantic Coast will be offered, along the world-renowned and spectacular Cliffs of Moher, to allow you to explore the countryside, breathe in that wild Irish Atlantic air and the dramatic scenery, while introducing yourself to Irish walking.Distance 4miles/6.5km
DAY 3 The Burren.
The Burren is a unique internationally-important habitat. You can explore it through a combination of walking on green roads and traversing of the karst limestone pavements, interspersed with rare arctic and alpine flowers.Distance 8 miles/13Km: Ascent 900ft/275m
DAY 4 Roundstone
Enjoy the views of the island dotted Atlantic coastline and the Clifden bog from Errisbeg, a small mountain behind the village of Roundstone. Overnight in Connemara (2 nights). Distance 11km/6miles    Ascent 275m/900ft
DAY 5 The Connemara Coast
Walk along the shore of Killary Harbour - Ireland's only fjord. A ten mile walk on the 'Famine Trail' through Connemara mountain scenery - lakedotted bogland rich in flora. Overnight in Connemara.Distance: upto 10 miles/16Km:
DAY 6 Free Day - A chance for you to visit and explore the charming city of Galway
Overinight in Galway (2 nights)
 
DAY 7 The Aran Islands.
Short flight over the dramatic west coast to the Irish-speaking Aran Islands. Walk to the southeast of the island to spectacular cliffs and puffing holes. Carry on to the Iron Age Black Fort (Dun Duchatair).  Distance: up to 13 miles/21Km: Ascent little or none.

Moderate walks of 6-12 miles (10-19km) with gradual ascents of up to 900ft (275m) approx.




From Shannon Airport to Lisdoonvarna
Transfer at 11.00 on Saturdays from the information point in the arrivals hall for €35

Galway to Shannon/Dublin airport
There is a great bus service from Galway to Shannon (5 times daily, journey lasts 1 hour 15 mins & costs €16 one way) or Dublin airports with www.citylink.ie

Note: These transfers must be confirmed at time of booking with flight numbers and times for arrival and departure. If these transfers aren't confirmed at time of booking we will assume they are making their own way to their first nights accommodation. Arrangements can be made for a private taxi transfer (at clients own expense) should the Go Ireland transfer timetable not suit.
