Nestling on the foothill of the Sperrins Teach Eoin - the Fernagh Ceili House - has become a mecca for kindred spirits searching for a shared culture of music, poetry, storytelling, song and craic. Built as the last famine ships were leaving Ireland the old cottage is a vibrant centre of our local traditions. There is nothing quite like a 'session' in Teach Eoin: with the oil lamps trimmed and the white-washed walls bathed is a soft yellow glow, the music leaves its international spell; the stone floors come alive with dancers and the air is filled with banter and song. Here there are no strangers, just friends who have yet to meet. Grey riverstone pillars stand seninel as the Connemara ponies graze in the meadow beyond the barn the vernacular architecture in Ireland and here, in Teach Eoin, Tradition is both proudly preserved and built upon. Gently slopin ghills give rise to outcrops f buildings, a low beech hedge, rustling brown, tops a winding land; stately trees extend comforting arms around a sturdy cottage.
