Lough Bradan is a gin clear mountain lough, well stocked with brown trout which are naturally free rising. It is situated 6 miles north east of Ederny and nearly 5 miles west of Drumquin. Access is via a by road to the north and there is a car park close to the water. Bradan gets a hatch of chironomids, a very big hatch of sedges, and a prolific caenis hatch. Useful wet fly patterns are Bibio, Blae and Black, Fiery Brown, Invicta, Silver Invicta, Gree Peter, Murrough and Daddy. The season run from 1 March to 20 October and all legal methods are allowed, except groundbait and maggots. Fishing is from the bank only but not from the weir on the north side. Boats are not allowed. Permission.
