Brantry Lough lies off the B128 Aughnacloy - Benburb road and approximately 6 miles south of Dungannon. This is a rich limestone Lough holding brown trout. It is situated in a very sheltered position which can make the fishing very difficult at times. There are hatches of chironomids, olives, even some mayfly and a good sedge hatch. A good ploy is to fish a dry Mayfly, Gnat, Buzzer or Sedge according to season if the trout start showing at the surface in the evening. This is a lough of 60 acres and boats are allowed but no outboard motors. All legal methods go but only orthodox fly fishing from the boat. The season runs from 1 March to 31 October and there is a 4 trout bag limit and a 10 inch size limit. Permission
