The Round Tower

The Round Tower, measuring 92 ft. in height is on the far side of the Cathedral from the Vicar's Choral and dates to the 12th century since it has a Romanesque doorway. Round Towers were used mainly as belfries but could also have been used as a place of refuge....

A spectacular group of medieval buildings set on an outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale including the 12th century round tower, High Cross and Romanesque Chapel, 13th century Gothic cathedral, 15th century castle and the restored Hall of the Vicars.
