Signposted from the main street, Polly’s Pub with its vintage charm and inimitable character is well worth finding. An original old-style shop front with period architecture greets the imbiber. This pub has a far reaching association with the licensing industry and served as the original bar-grocery for decades.
Established in 1815, Patrick Fogarty ran this pub for years and it became affectionately known as Polly’s Pub named after his daughter who took charge on his demise.
Cast in the old world idiom the only concession to modern day is luxury seating and professional catering standards. Originality is the theme and the cosy ambience oozes nostalgia. Polly’s kitchen has been entombed in a time capsule with many of her personal effects just as they were. There are many separate drinking areas within, the mood and styling sure to offer a haven of contentment to a varied social mix.
Half doors, floor flags, intimate nooks and snug-type crannies imbue Polly’s with its unique unhurried atmosphere.

Description
Work up a hunger and there is homemade soup, toasted and plain sandwiches available all day. Although the styling is decidedly old world, contemporary standards of hygiene, quality and attention to detail are of the essence. Friendly staff take pleasure in ensuring first class service in this award winning rendezvous.
Polly’s Pub has a certain presence, no gimmicks just good piano music and a charisma that makes the authentic connoisseur linger. Preservation of this period tavern should be compulsory as it is undoubtedly a nostalgic jewel in the crown of the Irish social order.
