The Library is a simple structure, recently renovated by GPA. It was built in 1836, by William Tinsley, a Clonmel builder- architect, who executed many commissions in Co Tipperary, including the re-modelling of the square in Cahir. He emigrated to the USA in 1851, where his major work included University Halll (Madison, Wis.) and the Ohio Institute for the Education of the Blind (Columbus, Ohio).
