Our bar, named after Tipperary’s most famous equestrian family, the O’Briens, is the most popular place in town with live music every weekend and friendly bar staff to ensure a great time is had by all. Though newly decorated, the wood panelling, snugs and lighting give it an old world feel. There is an additional library bar area with comfortable armchairs for those who prefer a quiet drink or just relax reading a book or a newspapper.

The Bistro in Cahir House Hotel is a firm favourite with locals who seek high quality food at a reasonable price. The menu changes with the seasons and many of the ingredients are organic and most are locally sourced. Though the Bistro is a busy meeting place, it has a relaxed atmosphere where long lunches and dinners are enjoyed by visitors and locals alike.

Traditional Afternoon Tea is served daily accompanied by a selection of sandwiches, freshly baked fruit scones and pastries along with your choice of tea or coffee.

The staff were very pleasant and courteous throughout our stay. It was a welcome return to the old-fashioned idea of service and manners. Decor in the hotel was a little tired and there were no lifts in the hotel and a lot of steps which made it difficult when travelling with two eighty year old parents. I had three meals there and all were first class. One meal was a function for two hundred and the hotel catered very well under pressure. I did not visit the spa or gym areas.
