Harbour House is a 50 bed Tourist Board Approved hostel with en-suite single rooms, double rooms, twin rooms, family rooms and dormitory rooms. Built in 1860 for the Harbour Master, when Sligo was one of the busiest ports in Ireland; this old house has retained its character, while being turned into warm clean comfortable accommodation at affordable prices - a little more than a hostel. It is situated only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Sligo town and the main train and bus terminus for the North West of Ireland. NB: Check in times vary according to day of arrival; Sunday to Thursday 14:00 - 20:00, Friday 14:00 - 22:00 and Saturday 14:00 - 21:00.

From Bus/Train station turn left on Lord Edward St walk to traffic lights, turn left on to N4 carriageway walk on to traffic lights take a left walk on under bridge continue straight on to the Finisklin Road until you reach roundabout (past Brooks Hanley, Nibblers Cafe, Bruss, the Ursuline College, Compupac & Value Centre, until you come to Harbour House)- total time approx 12 minutes walking.
o Strandhill Airport – 5km from Harbour House o Knock International Airport – 54km from Harbour House By car: From the North, the N15 and N16 will bring you to Hughes Bridge. Stay in the outside lane and turn right immediately on crossing the bridge onto Ballast Quay. Follow the road until you come to the roundabout outside Harbour House. From the South and east, stay on N4 and at the 4th set of traffic lights turn left on to finisklin road continue on under bridge to roundabout at Harbour House.
Local Amenities such bars, restaurants, night clubs, shopping centers, sports complex and indoor swimming pool are just 1km away and a sandy beaches is just 5 km. This is a perfect holiday base for those who like an active holiday with activities such as angling, cycling, horse riding, hill walking, surfing, sailing and golfing located to be enjoyed in Sligo. Tourist attractions within walking distance are Sligo Abbey, Sligo Cathedral, Yeat’s Building and Museum. Within 10-15 minutes drive: Strandhill Beach, Rosses Point Beach, Carromore megalithic tombs, Knocknorea mountain and Queen Maeve’s cairn, Benbulben mountain, Glencar Waterfalls, Lissadell House

Very clean and comfortable spot with good common room and internet access. Plenty of space in kitchen for food prep. Great for the self-catering traveller.
