This band was formed in 1990 and consists of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments which enable the band to perform in the musical genres of classical, jazz, blues, pop, marches and big band. The Brussels Concert Band was founded over a century before that and currently numbers some 50 musicians. These two bands have committed to collaborative events to promote international ties and a sense of musical community in Europe....

This festival is held over the June bank holiday weekend that features a host of traditional Irish music, song and dance events. There are numerous events held specifically for children, as there are over 400 kids expected to attend. As well as the official opening, there will be a concert, a céilí, some street music and there will also be plenty of other informal events taking place on the spot throughout the weekend....

Border Trek 2008

This 200 cycle stops over in Sligo in its long trek through the countryside starting at Enniskillen and passing through Carrick-on-Shannon on the way to Sligo on Day 1. On Day 2, it continues from Sligo, on through Manorhamiliton and Lough Melvin and finishing the 104 mile cycle in Enniskillen once more.
