Queen Maeve International Summer School Festival of Irish Music and Song takes place in I.T. Ballinode, Sligo Town. This summer school is a week long series of master, advanced, intermediate and beginners classes in sean nos singing, tinwhistle, fiddle, flute, mixed instruments, bodhran and other instruments. This band was formed in 1990 and consists of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments which enable the band to perform in the musical genres of classical, jazz, blues, pop, marches and big band. The Brussels Concert Band was founded over a century before that and currently numbers some 50 musicians. These two bands have committed to collaborative events to promote international ties and a sense of musical community in Europe....
