Located in the Yeats memorial Building, the Gallery was founded in 1977 under the auspices of the Yeats Society to provide exhibition facilities for all art forms. The gallery houses ten to twelve major exhibitions annually.

There are in addition a number of showings and art projects which involve active public participation....

"The Journeys of our Ancestors" by some descendants, the use of sail, rail and horse transport in the lives of the Irish adventurers (male and female migrants). Props exhibited in the classroom include sailing boat models used around the Irish coast and to/from UK canals, costumes worn by women side-saddle riders and try out sitting on a side-saddle, sheet paintings hung on class wall depicting historic women and men.
