This former Church of Ireland built in 1819, is on the site of an earlier church dating back to 1754. The heritage centre is sited in the heart of Roscommon near the great complex of monuments at Royal Rathcroghan, the birthplace of Percy French, the ancient Cathedral site if Elphin and a host of other notable antiquities.

The centre houses an interpretative Display on Pagan Celtic Society in Pre-Christian Ireland, on the monuments of Rathcroghan and the display also focuses on the epic tale of the Tain Bo Cualigne. The centre offers a family research service to people with Co.Roscommon roots who are anxious to trace their ancestry.
