Athlone Cruisers is based at the Jolly Mariner Marina, north of Athlone, off the main Dublin to Galway road. The fleet varies from the top of the range luxury Bernadette super craft to the comfortable Fionnuala class which is ideal for two to three people at an economic price. From Athlone, extensive cruising grounds extend in both directions on the river. The stretch south of the town is particularly attractive to novice skippers, offering plain sailing and plenty of places to visit. This family owned company gives all skippers tuition and a handbook before they cast off. Athlone is the nearest point on the Shannon both to Dublin Airport and to both cross channel ferry terminals in Dublin.
