Harbour Masters House Welcome to Harbour Masters House, which is a beautiful countryhouse bed and breakfast, located right on the banks of the Grand Canal near Birr in County Offaly.
Harbour Master House was built in 1806 and today retains most of it original character and charm from that period. The house is tastefully furnished throughout and is extremely comfortable creating that special home from home ambience. Guests can look forward to open fires, modern convenience and a warm welcome from your host Grainne.
The whole village has been upgraded with a 1.6 million grant to help tourism. There is a lovely seating, picnic area, children’s play area and parking on the waterfront in front of The Harbour Masters House where you can relax and enjoy the countryside.
The village is where you'll find fishing and boating facilities as well as the local traditional pubs. Boats, engines and bikes are also available locally. If you want to play a round of golf, golfing breaks can be organised by your hosts. The countryside of Offaly is dotted with some wonderful attractions like the Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, Birr Castle, Slieve Bloom Environmental Mountain Park and Leap Castle.
