The Coach House
was restored in 1999. It was beautifully furnished as a
4 star
traditional country style home with rustic décor and oak beams in the open plan living area.
A traditional fireplace is a welcome focus on cool evenings, with oil fired heating to give 21st century comfort. The modern fitted kitchen, cloakroom and storage room complete the area. Upstairs there are two ensuite bedrooms furnished with pine furniture and prints by famous Irish Artists of the 19th and early 20th century.
The Abbey Farm is set in the beautiful surroundings of Killeigh village, near Tullamore in County Offaly.

Description
Although the main occupation is farming 80 hectares of land with sheep, cereals and forestry are the main products.
The owners living area was converted to a private dwelling house in 1556. It was originally a Augustinian Friary and later was a Franciscan Monastery. Inhabited since the 5th century and probably much earlier, this is certainly a part of Irish history.
Directions to the coach house
From Dublin take the N4 to Kilbeggan town, proceed to Tullamore. The Abbey farm is situated in Killeigh, 8km form Tullamore on the N80 to Portlaoise town.
From Dublin city take the N7 to the Mountmellick/ Emo exit. When you reach Mountmellick town follow the signs for Tullamore. We are the first village after Mountmellick. When you reach Killeigh, look for our signpost "Abbey Farm Selfcatering "

has been beautifully restored but has kept its old world charm, which is evident in its traditional fireplace and rustic décor.
This beautiful holiday home consists of two spacious bedrooms, which are comfortably heated with oil central heating.
The kitchen and dining area are spacious and fully equipped with modern conveniences.

A private terrace of local Clonaslee stone and lawn faces the main garden of the property. This also has space for parking your car and a private entrance.
Surrounded by rare and beautiful plants and shrubs, this is a quiet, relaxing area. All the flower gardens, herbs and vegetable areas are open, allowing you to enjoy a wander around the property.

Just five minutes or less takes you to the centre of the village, where you can enjoy our award winning village green and the convenience of Gorman’s supermarket, the pub, and the village post office.
Several country lanes are convenient to the village for strolling and the Blessed Wells are just a short walk down the side of our farmyard, following a beautiful path which is surrounded by native plants and trees, where you can enjoy fresh air and lovely views
Within 10kms
Killeigh has several good golf courses within 15 minutes drive. Tullamore Golf Club and Esker Hills (for the more adventurous golfer) are two of the best in the region. There is excellent angling and coarse fishing nearby.
Rahan village has a state of the art fishing tackle shop. Equestrian needs are very well catered for in the area by Annagharvey Equestrian Centre, ten minutes away and Killeigh Equestrian Centre, just outside the village.
Every Saturday we have a farmers market just across the road from Abbey Farm selling the freshest fruit and vegetables, plus jam, cakes and eggs. Well worth a visit.
