The special atmosphere of Ireland's countryside has a lot to do with its traditional way - the feeling of contact with older wisdoms. In the farms of the countryside, especially, there is a continuity of love for the land and its domestic animals. Farming is still a family affair, with a lifestyle that respects old courtesies and the habit of kindness to strangers.
Description
Centred around a 250 year old farmhouse and museum, Lusmagh Farm has a large variety of animals on view. This mixed farm specialises in a prolific sheep flock. Within the farm is a nature trail in which you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of rural Ireland. Relax and enjoy refreshments in our old world coffee shop. Entertainment for children includes donkey rides, rabbits and pet lambs. See several breeds of pheasant along with mallard, quail, pea fowl, guinea fowl and geese. Part of the farm is located on the unique Brosna Wetlands, home to several wild fowl including the almost extinct Corncrake.
Location
From Dublin M4 to Kinnegad - M6 to Kilbeggan. Turn left to Tullamore and Banagher. We are located 4km from Banagher (signposted).
