The County Arms Hotel is a 4 star Family-Run 200-year-old Georgian House, set on 9 acres of gardens in the Heritage Town of Birr. The hotel was refurbished in 2007.
The Springs Leisure Club includes 20m Pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi, Steam Room, Kiddies Pool, Hydrotherapy Couch, Whirlpool and Air Conditioned Gym.

The Springs Wellness Suites offer Elemis Spa treatments exclusively with romantic spa packages available.

Our cosy bar offers an extensive Cocktail and Wine by the Glass selections, whilst Cooke's Restaurant enjoys a stunning setting and imaginative menus.

Directions

The County Arms Hotel is located in the Heritage town of Birr, County Offaly, in the heart of the Irish midlands. The hotel is situated on the Roscrea Road (N62) about 500 metres from Birr Town centre.
From Dublin and the M50 take the Red Cow Exit towards Limerick (N7) and keep driving until you reach Roscrea. Follow signs for Birr.
From Limerick take N7 to Roscrea and follow the signs for Birr.
From Galway, take N6 to Loughrea. 2 Miles after Loughrea, turn right for Portumna. In Portumna, turn left for Birr.
From Cork, take N8 towards Dublin. Turn left at Horse & Jockey and continue through Thurles, Templemore and Roscrea until you reach Birr.
Nearest train station is at Tullamore (20m) on the main Dublin-Galway line. Bus Eireann also provides a regular service from Athlone Bus & Train station to Birr.
The local Bus Company offer daily service to and from Birr from Tullamore and Dublin.

Family with kids

We loved the entire hotel staff who were at all times friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much for them. We only had breakfast and did not eat at any time in the restaurant or bar. This was only due to time constraints as we ate out when we were out sightseeing. However, we did have a coffee in the bar and found the staff and service there excelllent.

Friendly staff There were a few things broken in the room - handle kept coming off the inside of the door.
