The Abbey is located on the site of an Augustinian Abbey, later home to the Franciscan Order. The site has been inhabited since the 5th century and the present house was converted into a private manor house in 1556.
The Abbey Apartment
is a beautiful

apartment which is located in the east wing of the house. This spacious Victorian style apartment consists of a living room, fitted kitchen, Laundry room and three bedrooms.
The living room is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs, original art work and an open fireplace.

Abbey Apartment offers you a relaxing rural holiday with all the advantages of a 4 star accommodation. Abbey Apartment is centrally located in the Irish midlands and is perfect for touring the different areas of Ireland.
Directions
From Dublin Airport take the N4 to Kilbeggan town, proceed to Tullamoree. The Abbey farm is situated in Killeigh, 8km from Tullamore on the N80 to Portlaoise town.
From Dublin city take the N7 to the Mountmellick/Emo exit and from there take signs to Mountlellick through Emo village. Killeigh is the next village on the Tullamore road out of Mountmellick. When you reach Killeigh, look for signpost "Abbey Farm Selfcatering "
Rooms
Bedroom 1
is a traditional Victorian bedroom with walnut bedroom suite. This room has a double bed and a single bed.
Bedroom 2
has two single beds and lovely pine furniture in a traditional style.
Bedroom 3
has two single beds and is located on the ground floor. This bedrooms is furnished with handcrafted mahogany furniture and looks out to a quiet corner of the garden with a fishpond and Japanese style plants and décor.
Facilities
This Apartment has the use of a side garden with patio, plus garden furniture and gas fired barbeque.
The Liscannor stone patio, with its pergola covered in clematis and vine leaves is a stunning setting for breakfast.
This area is overlooked by the remains of the Abbey Chapter house with its east window and is a real sun trap, sheltered on three sides by stone walls. The walled vegetable garden is situated at the end of this area.

The Blessed Wells, situated down a path beside the farmyard is just a stroll away. Around the village are several quiet roads and lanes suitable for a walk.
The large garden and the leafy village green offer shaded pretty vistas. The village offers the convenience of shopping at Gorman’s Supermarket, the Post Office is just further on and across the road is Doyle's Pub.
Every Saturday, there is a Farmers Market just across the road from Abbey Farm selling the freshest fruit and vegetables , meat jam, eggs and tasty cakes and bread.
Within 10kms
A wide choice of excellent golf courses notably Esker Hills Golf Course and Tullamore Golf Course are both within 15 minutes drive of the Apartment.
There is excellent angling and Coarse fishing locally, while the Slieve Bloom walking trails offer walks suitable for all levels of ability.
We have two excellent equestrian centres within 5km of Killeigh, Annaharvey Equestrian Centre and Killeigh Equestrain Centre.
