Tanagh Outdoor Education Centre is situated on the border of Counties Monaghan and Cavan, at the heart of the Dromore Water System, adjoining Dartrey Forest. The Centre is 70 miles (112kms) from both Dublin and Belfast.
The original building served as residence for the land-steward of nearby Dartrey estate, then it became a seminary, after that an army barracks and now it is a busy modern outdoor pursuits and education Centre.
