Swallow Studios Art & Craft Gallery in Annyalla Co Monaghan is home to textile artist and handweaver Liz Christy. Liz is well known of her colourful handwoven scarves which are inspired by the art of her favourite painter, Claude Monet. She has a collection inspired by her much loved drumlins hills of County Monaghan and of course, the beautiful Bragan, the raised bog mountain in the north of the county.  Very proud of her county's lace making heritage, Liz had designed a range which is a tribute to that heritage, a woven lace using fine cottons and true Donegal wools and for this recently she won an Essence of Ireland Award from the Crafts Council of Ireland.

Passionate about protecting and passing on the traditional  crafting skills, Liz launched a series of Craft classes and workshops at Swallow Studios which she plans to further develop, all part of her wish for her colourful place of work to be a vibrant and resourceful place to visit and be inspired.
