County Meath is known far and wide as a historic area. Newgrange, which was discovered in the 17th century, is one of the oldest Stone Age structures in the world.  The mesmerising Tara Brooch was also found in Bettystown close by. Even through the Book of Kells is housed in Trinity College, it was actually found in County Meath. Take a scenic drive around the Boyne Valley and appreciate the relaxed and laid back lifestyle of the local people. Cavan, Westmeath and Dublin are all on your doorstep waiting to be explored.
