Hill of Tara
The Hill of Tara is located in Navan in County Meath. it was the seat of the High Kings of Ireland and has been an important site since the Stone Age. The Hill of Tara was a political and religious centre in early Christian.
Newgrange Passage Tomb
This magnificent prehistoric monument is one of the finest passage-tombs in the whole of Western Europe. The sun's rays penetrates the centre of the burial chamber on the morning of the 21st December. Newgrange Passage Tomb was constructed around 3100 B.C.
Kells High Cross
The monastery at Kells would appear to have been first founded in 804 by monks from St. Colmcille's foundation at Iona, who were fleeing from the Viking invasions to seek a safer place for their treasures. The greatest treasure of the monastery is the Book of Kells, which is now in Trinity College, Dublin.
