Hill Walking/Climbing
There are some great walks around Louisburgh, located on the Atlantic coast of Ireland, In addition to walking you’ll find a number of leisure pursuits in the Louisburgh area including swimming at blue flag beaches, fishing, golf, surfing, pony trekking and other outdoor pursuits.
Surfing
There are several good locations for surfing in County Mayo, one of which is Carrownisky beach just minutes from Lousiburgh and the West View Hotel. Just around the corner from the Hotel, Surf Mayo has a shop where you can hire equipment, including boards and wet suits; beginners can organize lessons and there's coaching for improvers. The surfing season is usually during, April and May and September and October.
