International Four Day Walks Committee, Castlebar, Mayo
Castlebar's premier walking festival attracts walkers from all over the world. The festival takes place during the first week in July.
It was first established in 1967 and has grown ever since.
There are 10km,20km and 40km walks and rambles to be enjoyed. The festival is open to all ages form the age of 11 and all the ways upwards! The walks takes to places all around Castlebar and beyond.

The Foxford Way is a long distance way-marked trail covering a distance of 86 kilometres. Linked to the Western Way, this glorious walking trail stretches through the majestic Ox Mountains and on to beautiful Loughs Conn and Cullen , taking in boglands, meadows and rivers en route. In addition to having a wealth of flora and fauna, the Foxford Way is also rich in archaeological and historical sites. Throughout the summer there will be regular guided walks along various sections of the way....

This 170km route takes the walker from the fjord of Killary Harbour at Leenaun on the Co. Galway border to the base of the Ox Mountains on the Co. Sligo border.
