Have just spent 3 nights at The Helm, The Quay in Westport, booked a 3 bedroom apartment, 2 children aged 11 and 14 years, included in the price was free swimming in the nearby Atlantic Coast hotel, the children took full advantage. Left for us on arrival was a bottle of wine, butter, brown bread, tea, coffee - a nice welcoming touch. Spacious main bedroom ensuite, 2nd bedroom had double and single bed, bh of these upstairs, a double bedroom downstairs, kitchen was cosy and very snug, well equipped, kettle, toaster, washing machine, dishwasher, cutlery, delph etc. The Helm Restaurant downstairs is very nice with plenty of fish dishes, music every night in the bar (which can be noisy till 1am). We also ate in the Atlantic Coast Hotel, bar food which was very good value. The walk into town through Westport House grounds is very nice and takes about 20 minutes.
