Welcome to Suan na Mara a delightful 3 star holiday cottage, located 3km from the historic town of in Killala, County Mayo, overlooking the 15th century Moyne Abbey, with a view across Killala Bay to Enniscroone, Co. Sligo.

This self catering property is a home from home and is a modern, spacious bungalow with fully equipped modern kitchen, sitting room, dining room and four comfortable bedrooms, one of which is ensuite.  Other facilities include oil fired central heating, open fire places in sitting room and dining room, bathroom with shower and bath.  There is an enclosed garden to the front and rear of the property providing a safe play area for children and plenty of car parking space.

From Balina take the R314 to Killala for approx. 10km.  Before you enter Killala turn right at sign for Moyne Abbey.  Continue for approx. 2km and the property is the 2nd house on the right after Moyne Abbey.

All your self catering requirements can be found in Killala which has a supermarket, butcher shop, restaurants and bars with music to suit all.

This is a fishermans paradise with deep sea angling, salmon fishing on the world renowned River Moy (the Salmon capital of Ireland), game and coarse fishing on Lough Conn and other lakes and rivers in the area.

Enjoy a game of golf at one of the 18 hole golf courses in Ballina (12km), Enniscrone (20km), Belmullet (50km).

Visit one of the may historic sights surrounding Killala e.g. Moyne Abbey, Rosserk Abbey, Rathfran Abbey, Killala Round Tower and Cathedral  and Foxford Woolen Mills to name but a few.

Relax on one of the local unspoilt beaches including the Blue Flag beach at Ross (3km from Killala).  Horse riding and forest walks are all within easy driving distance.

Ballina is Mayo’s largest town, just 10 minutes drive away, here you can enjoy a range of shopping experiences from department stores to boutiques, souvenir shops and numerous restaurants and pubs.  It also has a large indoor swimming pool  - great for a rainy day.

Enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, cliffs and headlands of the North Mayo coast as you drive to Belmullet.  From here you can drive south along the coast to Westport with Croagh Patrick in the background.  If you are feeling energetic why not climb this work famous mountain with stunning views of Clew Bay and surrounding countryside – make sure to wear suitable footwear and clothing.
