The historic village of Cong is located just 3 minutes drive from Hazel Grove B&B, allowing you to enjoy the traditional pubs and nightly entertainment. Take this opportunity to visit Cong Abbey, which was founded in the year 628 AD.
The Famous movie the quiet man was filmed in Cong and you can visit the Quiet Man Museum and many of the films location. Hill walking canoeing, horseriding, golf, fishing, lake cruising and mountain climbing are just some of the outdoor pursuits available in to area.
Hazel Grove B&B is conveniently located between two great fishing lakes Lough Mask and Lough Corrib

Hazel Grove is an ideal base for touring Connemara, Galway, Kylemore Abbey, Ballintubber Abbey and Knock Shrine.
Bike hire is available nearby and it’s the best way to see and really appreciate the beauty of the surrounding area.
Ashford Castle
This magnificent castle is located just 10 minutes walk from the village of Cong. In 1971 it became a hotel mainly for fishermen, but has since been refurbished to its former glory. The castle's courtyard is now filled by flower gardens. The jaunting car, which was used by John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara in The Quiet Man, filmed on location here in 1952, is owned by the castle.
