Swinford hosts Ireland's largest street festival, Siamsa Sraide (fun on the streets) on the August Bank Holiday Weekend. This festival of pageantry and dance depicts much of the culture and heritage of east Mayo. Highlights include open air dancing nightly to some of Ireland's best bands, as well as crossroads Ceili, Historical Walks and a Heritage Day. There is also a Children's programme and an International Busking Competition, which carries a prize fund....
