If you're feeling peckish you can order some room service or head downstairs to the restaurant, bar and lounge located on the ground floor. The d Hotel is located near the Scotch Hall Shopping Complex. With over 50 stores under one roof, you'll definitely be in shopping heaven here. There's a pedestrian bridge nearby that can get you into the city centre. Attractions in the town include the Highlanes Gallery, home of the Drogheda Municipal Art Collection and Beaulieu House, a classic example of Irish architecture from a bygone age. Drogheda is the home of the Drogs who are FAI Cup winners in 2005 and continue to compete at a high level.
For some golf you can head out to Baltray, Seapoint or Bettystown/Laytown which are all world class courses.
The Boyne Valley is important historically for a number of reasons, including the Battle of the Boyne, which saw the Dutch William of Orange finally defeating King James VII in his consolidation of the British Isles and Ireland; and also the Neolithic monuments of Newgrange and Knowth.
