The gable end of each row, situated at right-angles to the street, has inset a blank half-moon recess, and the two groups of houses are linked by an arch bearing the inscription "St. John's Home, 1816" and the town's crest, a star and crescent. From this little square, a fine view may be obtained of the Tholsel, with Millmount and the southern slopes of the town in the background.
Location
St. John's Home a charity foundation with origins in the 13th century, is composed of two rows of attractive brickhouses and fills the eastern side of the little square which was once the Cornmarket of Drogheda on the Louth side.
