Description
Greengates B&B is the perfect location from which to tour Dundalk and is just approximately 40 minutes from the bustling capital, Dublin City. Enjoy the seaside village of Blackrock where there are lots of bars and restaurants, beautiful beaches and much much more.
Directions to greengates bed and breakfast
Directions from Dublin
Take a right turn at Xerox. Continue on the N1 past the Fairways Hotel. Take the second left after the Fairways Hotel. The B&B is the second house on the left hand side.
Directions from Belfast
Take a right turn at Xerox and follow the directions the same as above.
Rooms
As you would expect of any approved B&B, the guestrooms are very comfortable, warm and bright. The facilities in the rooms include complimentary hospitality tray, TV and hair dryers. The property has a mix of single, double and triple rooms; all of them have an en-suite bathroom.

Breakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day and you will not be disappointed here at Greengates. Choose from the extensive breakfast menu, which includes a traditional full Irish with all the trimmings or a continental breakfast if you want.
The dresser in the dining room is brimming with breakfast choices such as homemade breads, selection of fresh juices, yoghurts, pancakes, fresh fruit, cereals and compotes. With such a wide choice of foods, even the fussiest eater will find something they like.

Dundalk is a wonderful modern town. It offers the atmosphere of city life yet it’s only a stones throw away from peaceful countryside walks and ancient castles bursting with untold stories of a bygone era.
At low tide the sand is uncovered and you will see thousands of birds flock to this very spot from spring until autumn – a thrilling site for bird watching devotees. Just outside the town, the Cooley Peninsula gathers tourists year round to admire the beautiful scenery and ruggedness of the Mourne Mountains, which overlooks the peaceful inlet to Carlingford Lough. Definitely it’s a trip worth taking!
