This prestigious award winning emporium is situated on Limerick’s left bank. The centuries-old social landmark is located in the city’s most historic region close to St Mary’s Cathedral, King John’s Castle and the National Hunt Museum.
The elegant olde-worlde facade is indicative of the style and character of the premises. The interior has been recreated in the idiom of yesteryear with much of the original structure and woodwork lovingly restored. Wood panelled walls, stained glass snob divides and open fires create a timely air of nostalgia. The design lends itself to the creation of various drinking areas within - each one with its own particular appeal. There is a vibrant sporting presence in The Locke with a definite attraction for the rugby fraternity.
This establishment is well known for its superb cuisine. Traditional Irish dishes, salads, prawn and salmon platters, soup, sandwiches etc. are all freshly home cooked daily and imaginatively presented. Tea, coffee, scones and a choice of tasty sweets accompany the bill of fare.
Traditional Irish music is another feature of The Locke Bar with regular sessions setting the place a buzz.
