There are lots of little villages in the surrounding countryside where you will find excellent award winning restaurants, craft shops and traditional Irish pubs. One of Ireland’s prettiest villages, Adare, is only a short drive and is well worth a visit to admire its thatched cottages and historical features. Piper Cottage is an excellent base from which to tour the rugged south or the breathtaking west coast.
