The food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff in the coffee/bar area were excellent. PC problems at reception on arrival and departure were tedious! I thought reception was understaffed on departure. Waiters in restaurant very good. Some difficulty finding the right menu when we arrived at the restaurant. When I phoned from my room to make a restaurant reservation I was greeted with "the restaurant is fully booked between 8 and 9. As I hadn't mentioned a time - this was quite off putting.
Rooms excellent, car park should be free for residents, mini-bar very expensive as was the bar food.
We really enjoyed a quiet lunch at the hotel cafe and the cafe staff were more than willing to accomodate the needs of my 1 year old. The staff in the restaurant for dinner were also very welcoming and friendly and we had a very nice meal there. We stayed at the hotel a few days after it re-branded from the Hilton to the Strand - but we were very disappointed that we were not informed of this prior to our arrival. We spent a very frustrating 30 minutes driving around the city looking for the Hilton on the river but all signs had been changed already. The reception staff did nothing to allay our frustrations when we commented about this. The pool area was great although the temperature in the main pool was very cold. This was a shame for my baby as he was not allowed in the warmer pool due to his age. Breakfast was lovely.
The Hilton is a good hotel with excellent facilities in a really good location.
Great Value
I was disapointed overall. I did request a smoking room but window was tiny and room was so stinking of tobacco when we arrived (i'm not a heavy smoker but like a cig with glass of wine). Havin to pay 5.00 for car park is totally not acceptable.
Your hotel in Limerick was excellent friendly staff and very clean.
Nice hotel overall, friendly staff, clean. Live Music when we stayed there which was good. Room was good value but many extra's. Parking and breakfast not included, expensive at €20 for Full Irish. Also no brochure detailing local attractions etc in room which was disappointing.
