Staying close to Newcastle West means you are in an excellent position to investigate this charming part of Ireland. Newcastle West itself is a bustling town with a 9 hole golf course and a good array of pubs and restaurants, not to mention the eye catching Desmond Halls, the local historic landmark. Head south towards Kerry to see the mountainous green landscapes of Killarney and the various sublime championship courses that make the county such a golfer’s haven. Just north is the magical village of Adare, where the preserved old world feel of the town makes it famous all over. For a bout of shopping make for Limerick City, and be sure to climb King John’s Castle for a breathtaking view out onto the Shannon.
